Bouncing back after a major holiday weekend can be tough, but we armed ourselves with a couple gallons of coffee and dove right back into the hard work of staying up all night watching TV so we could bring you the hottest clips and most memorable moments from this week’s late night shows.
Check out our top three picks:
THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON – FELICITY JONES SHOWS OFF HER ‘STAR WARS’ FIGHT MOVES
Fine, we admit it. Anything “Star Wars” immediately goes to the top of our highlights list, but this clip from Wednesday night’s “Fallon” is actually legitimately cool. Jones is the star of the forthcoming “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and she reenacted a fight scene she has with a Stormtrooper on “The Tonight Show” set while wearing a straight up dainty evening gown and heels. She’s officially a force to be reckoned with and we suppose we’ll go see this little space fight movie she’s in which opens December 16th:
THE DAILY SHOW WITH TREVOR NOAH – THE HOLOCAUST THEMED ICE CAPADES
Russia has always been competitive in the world of ice skating, but they scored a gold medal in inappropriateness this week when one of their reality shows featured contestants performing a Holocaust-themed skating routine to the music of a song from “Life Is Beautiful.” Senior Jewish Correspondent Adam Lowitt from “The Daily Show” helped put this one in perspective for us while we scrambled to pick up the pieces of our shattered jaw after it hit the floor:
THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING WITH JIMMY FALLON – NEIL DIAMOND CHRISTMAS MEDLEY
OK, there were only a couple of late night shows live this week so we had to double dip on some “Fallon,” but we think it worked out OK. You don’t have to celebrate Christmas to get sucked into Monday night’s Neil Diamond Christmas medley. There’s just something about Diamond’s rich vocal tone underscored by staccato tuba sounds that had us jamming out hard in our living rooms and dancing like no one was watching. You guys weren’t watching, right? Phew.
