NOW GIVE US SOME CANDY!
The stars of “Saturday Night Live” have made careers out of slipping into costume and pretending to be someone else for the night, so it’s almost like everyday is Halloween for them. That hasn’t made their Halloween-themed sketches any less brilliant. Check out our ten favorite “Saturday Night Live” Halloween themed sketches and bits in preparation for the big night:
1. MATT FOLEY ON HALLOWEEN
When a few teen hooligans are busted for toilet papering and egging houses on Halloween, there’s only one man who can get them back on track. And that man lives in a van down by the river.
It’s that thing…where Bill Hader shows up with one of the greatest Weekend Update characters in history and nails it every time. Stefon’s Halloween report on the greatest places to celebrate in NYC is so funny that even he can’t get through it without cracking up.
Bill Hader strikes again as Vincent Price hosting his 1960 Halloween special with special guests Judy Garland, JFK, and an incorrigible Liberace (Fred Armisen) who can turn pretty much everything into sexual innuendo.
NPR’s Margaret Jo and Terry get spooky with local Halloween enthusiast Gordon Hoover (Dana Carvey), his annual “Scary Town” haunted house, and his tray of themed horror-d’oeuvres. Gordon’s neighborhood has become a little more “urban” in recent years and he’s totally fine with that. (insert awkward soft-spoken reserved laugh here)
Some kids might not love that Stuart Smalley has chosen to give out health conscious treats like rice cakes instead of candy for Halloween, and that….O.K.
There’s nothing sexier than Kristen Wiig sexy-talking character slipping into a sexy Halloween costume. OK, maybe there’s a few things sexier. OK,…fine…a LOT of things…
Remember back before Adam Sandler made a bazillion dollars per movie, when he was just a sweet little Weekend Update correspondent making do-it-yourself Halloween costumes like “Crazy Pickle Hand” and “Guy About to Sneeze”? We do too. Now give us some candy!
Just because Appleton, Wisconsin costume store own Geoff (Jim Carrey) is possessed by the demon Galadriel doesn’t mean that he doesn’t still offer the best bargains in town on glitter lashes and sexy “Hunger Games” costumes.
Cheri Oteri’s classic character has candy and a kick in the pants for the neighborhood kids trick or treating tonight, and has a very special message for two youngsters who show up dressed as the Spartan cheerleaders.
“Spooky City” Halloween superstore owner Jake Pickler (Ed Norton) stops by to tell Steve Harvey (Kenan Thompson) about his favorite costumes based on wordplay.
