Ever since we rolled out our mission, vision, values and strategic priorities just over a year ago, we knew we needed to bring on a leader laser-focused on guiding our efforts to start with the viewer. Today I am pleased to welcome this leader, Ben Smith, our new SVP, Head of Experience, to the Hulu executive team.
Together, with our new Experience Team led by Ben, we are bringing four teams together to make up our Experience organization:
- User Experience
- Digital Video Production
- Customer Support
This Experience team, working in partnership with teams across the company, will lead us on our quest to redefine TV by changing the way our viewers enjoy television. They will own the mapping of the customer journey from end to end and collaborate across the business to identify, prioritize and implement innovative solutions that meet our viewers’ needs, from products to technologies to advertising, content and customer support.
Ben has no shortage of experience in the world of product development. He just completed work at Sonos as the head of product management where he led the global expansion of music services and the evolution of the home music scene. Before that he was a Partner at Microsoft, leading product design for Xbox and the TV and video experience for Xbox One.
What impresses me most about Ben are his leadership qualities and his passion for and approach to work. He is laid back and easy to talk with, open to ideas and collaboration and genuinely loves creating best-in-class products and experiences.
