Ninja Art of Shippuden Overload!

January 15th, 2009 by Rebecca Harper Editor

Joel Enos, the editor of Naruto manga in the U.S., wrote today’s guest blog post for Hulu as we kick launch fresh-from-Japan episodes of Naruto Shippuden:

I am so envious of you right now. You’re going to get hit with a rapid dose of Naruto that I, as an American editor of Naruto manga in the U.S., can only dream about. We’re speeding up our production of Naruto Shippuden anime so that we’re in this wacky time warp where, almost as fast as fans in Japan see new episodes, you’ll be able to see them, too.

So I’m envious that, if I was just a fan (because, believe me, I am a fan) and not the editor of Naruto, I’d just sit back, relax, and watch all of these episodes that until now haven’t been released in the U.S. almost all at once.

Instead of waiting week by week, we’re working day and night to pump out production on the coolest Naruto Shippuden stories you haven’t seen yet, making them available to you on Hulu right now!

I’m so jealous that you’ll get to see… Well, I can’t talk about that… Oh, and… Wait, can’t tell you that either. Oh yeah, and when… Oh no, that’s a secret too!

What I can tell you is that all your favorite characters are back. And they’re older, wiser, and having better adventures than ever. Check out the latest, Episode 91: “Orochimaru’s Hideout Discovered,” for example.

After all the waiting, you get to finally see where Orochimaru’s been hiding out all this time. You even get a glimpse of what he’s up to. And you’ll see the more grown-up Hinata getting ready to embark on an intense mission, proving she’s more than just the girl who had a childhood crush on Naruto.

Are these new episodes as incredible as you’d imagine them to be? To quote the younger version of this now-older ninja in the orange suit, you better… well, believe it!
