Welcome to Hulu

March 12th, 2008

1:46 A.M. - Launch!

In these short 18 weeks since we began private beta testing, we’ve been working hard to kick the tires and check under the hood in preparation of opening the doors to our site. With well over 10,000 pieces of user feedback, we’ve heard your suggestions, comments, criticisms and praise. Today we are excited to leave our private beta and open Hulu.com to everyone in the U.S.. Our streaming video service is free - anyone in the U.S. with a broadband internet connection and a computer can just press play to enjoy.

We’ve also made significant additions to our content line-up. With the help of over 50 top content providers such as FOX, NBC Universal, MGM, Sony and Warner Bros., we’ve more than quadrupled the number of shows in our library, and on top of that, we’ve added 100 full-length movies. Hulu offers full-length episodes of not only current hit shows like The Simpsons and The Office but also classics like The Incredible Hulk, Miami Vice and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and in some cases, as with Arrested Development, Firefly, and Friday Night Lights, we have every episode ever aired. Our expanded library of full-length movies has something for everyone, from The Usual Suspects to The Big Lebowski, Me, Myself & Irene, Mulholland Drive and (one of my personal favorites) Three Amigos!.

While we’re excited about the progress we’ve made during the last 18 weeks, we are well aware that we’ve got a long way to go in our mission to help people find and enjoy the world’s premium content. As a frustrated media consumer myself at times, I know we still have much work ahead of us before we can confidently say that we are bringing all the great content that is out there to users on their terms. It won’t happen overnight, but I’m optimistic about the progress we’ve made so far and will continue to make. We’ll work closely with our content partners to bring you the best collection of premium videos on the web, and we’ll continue to develop and leverage technology to make media truly easy for you. Your feedback has been critical in shaping the Hulu service, and we look forward to hearing from you.

I'll close this post with a scene from a movie that gets my vote as the best comedy from the past 12 months: Juno. Enjoy.

This new site rocks! I can't even begin to say how amazingly cool I think it is that you're offering all these movies for free (save for the commercials, of course). Oh, and thanks for adding Time Tunnel! One request: Any chance you'll come out with a subscription plan where we can pay to get rid of the commercials?
  2. Matt_ Says:
Nice Job Jason ....next Mission if you choose to accept it is get HULU on the Wii ,PS3 and upcoming internet ready TVs so we can really watch TV where it should be ...on the TV and not on a computer monitor. Do what ever you can to get Abode to release a SDK that supports a version of flash SDK for devices that is'nt Flash 7 .
  3. Mike Says:
Congrats to the whole team. The new site is awesome. I love the profile settings, although I still have one request: A way to filter out the stuff from a subscription that we don't want (web exclusives, recaps, etc). Is there any way you could add this? Oh and to Matt_, add the 360 and Windows Media Center integration.
  4. srcasm Says:
Congrats to you and the whole team. Hulu has been a personal favorite beta of mine since its debut and now I am very happy that I can share it with everyone I know. The girlfriend can't get enough of it, the coworkers have been asking for it and the friends who aren't on it want an invite and now it's all open! Great job and keep up the awesome work that you all do.
  5. Jim D Says:
Nice website. Now, if there was a way to use it. Click here, click there and nothing. Looks like a work in process to me. And a lot of work left.
  6. Legion Says:
Awesome work and what an excellent opening selection. I don't even mind the commercials, they are worse on the actual networks websites, I know because I've compared. I'd rather have more interruptions but shorter in length that fewer that are 30 or more seconds long. I'm very impressed with the movie selection and the amount of shows you've added, as well as episodes such as Arrested Development, I fell in love with that show because of your website. I had never even heard of it before and it's that type of Seinfeld comedy that I fell in love with years ago. I think NBC Universal and Fox deserve a ton of credit for getting this going and honestly if the other networks won't join, that's ok...I won't watch there shows. I mean I don't even know what is on there networks anyway, and you have a huge enough selection for someone like me that is 28 that it would take me years with my free time available aside from family and work to watch everything you have now. This is my premier website for watching online media, and I've been saying it for years now...the internet will become the new television. You'll come home, plug your laptop into a bigger monitor, and there will be an led in the front of the laptop so that you can use a remote with it to change channels like a normal tv used to. It will be the new cable box. That is my prediction. Anyways, thank you so much and we plan on embedding a bunch of this material for our memberbase. If I could close with a request, I'd love to see even more 80s or older stuff, but new stuff is fine. I watch Hulu with my friends kids when they stop in the office for 20 minutes and if there was a wider cartoon selection...please grab it. Like old cartoons: Inspector Gadget where's nickelodeon anyway? COPS Tail Spin Duck Tales Pinky and the Brain - wasn't this on Fox's station? ----------------------- But I would die for Law & Order episodes, I've watched the show for 15 years now. My fave. Anyways, too late to keep this short, awesome job and keep going forward. Legion
  7. Legion Says:
Um, one more thing, what happened to Alfred Hitchcock Hour? I mean you kept presents, but got rid of Hour. I'm confused...they would have the same studio, and the same actors. Maybe for DVD sales, oh well, not a big deal just was surprised why you had one and not the other. Peace, Legion
  8. talknut Says:
CONGRATULATIONS! THANK YOU! I needed something new and good in my life, and now I have hulu.
  9. ezvancouver Says:
Great site. I will watch it now and then.
  10. 5handgang Says:
Any chance you can get it Opera compatible, especially Wii compatible? Great site. I have been waiting from something like this. Rawk on! Oh, can you guys see about getting some Kenny vs Spenny and some Kung fu movies from China and from the 70's.
  11. Troy Says:
Is it just me or all the videos offline?
  12. Adam Says:
Great site, the quality of the video is amazing. I can see myself watching videos here occasionally, however, if it were integrated with my AppleTV or iPhone it would nearly replace my cablebox.
  13. Jacob Says:
Is there a way to turn on closed captions or subtitles?
  14. Asi Says:
Incredible work everybody. I've been a huge fan since I first got my beta login, and you've made an amazing service even better. Congrats to the whole team, you've made the internet a much better place. Asi Behar VP, Software Engineering - Revver
  15. Steven Says:
Nice job guys! I have been using the site since it was open for private beta, and have seen a lot of improvements. I have noticed some subtle and not subtle changes to the front end of the new release. If i can just say coming from someone in the industry I liked to AJAX pop-outs on the top menu bar. They were a little sensitive and needed work but i would recommend bringing them back in the near future.
  16. goldilocks Says:
while watching fox business this morning I found out about your site.....AMAZING LUV LUV the old shows and movies thank you
  17. Janette Says:
Awesome service, awesome site! I like that you've managed to make the pages functional but you've kept them lean so navigation through the site is fast and easy. Keep up the good work!
  18. Michele Says:
Great site!!! So happy to see something like this get up and running; now I needed worry about missing an episode of anything! Two thumbs up!
  19. sracer Says:
Congratulations! After being a beta tester for a while it is nice to see hulu come online officially. I agree with and second the request to have hulu support the PS3.
  20. Michele Says:
Glad it's open - I've been suggesting hulu to people for months now, and they've been waitlisted. As for the updated interface - bravo, for the most part. However, I really liked the 'Recently Added' feature because it allowed me to scan through what you guys had put up. I realize still have that tiny 'recently added shows' area... but it's a bit sparse. Any plans to bring back the other area? Keep up the good work.
  21. Joe Bua Says:
Jason, how about a "My Hulu Favorites" widget? Any plans? And thanks for all the embeds. A surprising number of people were interested in a Partridge family episode I posted from my youth.
  22. j duke Says:
ok. figured out your site will not work on Opera. But on Firefox. Also found out you have major interruptions with buffering, which I do not get elsewhere. Will check back periodically to see if you successfully addressed the issue. P.S. My download speed is 2.48 mbs. Oh, yes, and a nice looking format.
  23. Ron Says:
Great job guys!! Very impressive site. HD content looks amazing and sounds incredible. Keep up the good work this is definitely a daily visited site for me.
  24. DrOfah Says:
You have done an excellent job. Thank you ever so much!!!!!!
  25. Gary Says:
Love it! I will never get any work done again.
  26. Robert Says:
Media Center Integration, Media Center Integration, Media Center Integration, Media Center Integration, Media Center Integration, Media Center Integration, Media Center Integration, Media Center Integration, Media Center Integration, Media Center Integration…. i Can't say it enough.
  27. Claye Says:
I premise this by saying that I love Hulu, but I cam across a couple bugs today - yeah, I get the "unfortunately this video..." message - the weird part? I live in Utah. There is also a security bug - I was a beta user and apparently our profile information didn't migrate well - after I logged in and couldn't watch anything, I double checked my login info. It was good, so I kept trying, and then went back to see if there was anything I could change in my profile info that would allow me to watch videos, but the profile page now says that I am a 58 year old woman from Washington State (I'll keep her information confidential). Anybody know when this might be fixed?
  28. snowcrocus Says:
Awesome, excellent, cool! Amazing grand opening! I have been a regular hulu user ever since beta started. But today, I am so totally impressed, delighted with the new UI and so many great movies added. Thanks for bringing such wonderful product to the world! Congratulations to the Hulu Team! Continue your good work!
  29. tina Says:
this is a verry good site i loveeeeeeeeeeeeee it but please add more movies pleaseeee:)
  30. coco574 Says:
I was watching studio B with shepherd on Fox news and they did a story on hulu. This is great. I just watched one of my favorite Dick Van Dyke episode. Just one commercial!!!!! Great job and congrats to all of you for your hard work.
  31. Ann Says:
Hi there! I just recently saw your interview on "Attack of the Show" and immediately signed up to Hulu. I love the design of the website. It's amazingly easy to navigate. It looks clean and crisp. I am excited to not use the burden of tivo and using up my bulb hours to my DLP projector. Good work! And I will be spreading the word.
  32. pwb Says:
Very nice job on making all those movies and TV shows available on demand. The obvious next step is to make it available on Apple TV.
  33. Ken Arcia Says:
Hi. I was excited about another new video website for clips, movies, tv shows..until I realized they ONCE AGAIN have overlooked the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. The ONLY show I found (in the hundreds listed) that has closed captions is "The Simpsons". If most of these shows have captions when shown on TV, why aren't captions included on this site? It makes no sense to me and really frustrates me. I have a technology website for the deaf community and will NOT recommend this site until more captions are added. I am deaf so will not understand any of these shows without captions. Frustrated Ken
  34. Legion Says:
Ok last comments: I figured out what happened with Alfred Hitchcock Hour, it went down on your site and none of it worked, then you changed all the embed codes. So now I have to change all of them for each episode, a frustration for sure. I'm not a complainer but this obviously can get frustrating and difficult to manage as a webmaster. Please try not to do this if you can avoid it. Otherwise please set up something for us webmasters that we can quickly embed the content for you. you're still getting the advertising and your own site exposure through embedding. As far as using other forms other than Adobe Flash, don't even waste your time. Microsoft's Silverlight or whatever will never compare with Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash is free, it works the best and while Youtube isn't a viable competitor since you don't do exactly the same things, that and everything else is flash, so why switch. On the question of clips, don't get rid of them. People whine and moan about it and you need an entry on it in your blog. Why do we have clips? Well people, the only ones that complain about there being clips or more clips than episodes are the people who've already seen the show. For those who haven't watching a 1 to 2 minute clip is good for getting a feel of the show, instead of wasting a half hour or hour watching something that doesn't interest them. Not that you'll email me, but I did email you and never got a response so you're probably a small group that can't answer all questions, but please consider a webmaster friendly method of embedding so we can continue to help you promote your site. Thank you for your time, Legion @ J Duke I have 1 Gig of RAM, and a Dual Core Processor on one of my 2 pc's, I've never noticed buffer problems except on pc's under 512 MB RAM. Try using less programs at once, and see if that increases quality of video functionality, also try refreshing. If you have lower than 512 RAM though, there is nothing Hulu can do to help you without lowering video quality. Plan for the future is what I do with my site, and I suggest the same for all web owners including Hulu. Eventually we'll all have 3 and 4 Gig RAM pc's with killer processor speed, don't reduce quality to support lower caliber pc's. If you have a high quality pc and you can't view these videos easily, then something is wrong with it.

as a new yorker who has not had cable for over two years (no channels at all, not even channels 1 through 13) i thought hulu was great a few months ago, but now, this is absolutely fantastic. so much content has been added recently that it blows my mind. i can finally relax on a sunday afternoon and watch movies again, or have a friend or two over on the weekend and watch some t.v. i forgot how much a movie or a sitcom can help ease the social tension in a room. thanks hulu! for making my life just that much simpler.
  36. J Duke Says:
Thanks for your input, Legion. My Dell laptop does indeed have 1 gig of RAM and dual core processor. Next time I'll try "refresh," per your suggestion. My point was, and still is, however, that on all other websites, including the free viewing on Netflix, I've encountered no excessive "buffering." Could it be Hulu on its first "open day" of operation was hit by an enormous number of visitors and therefore its service was overtaxed?
  37. Ro Says:
Nice Job! I was impressed that you had shows that are no longer running on here too. I love this site its well organized compared to some of the alternatives out there. I'm currently working a job that may cause me to miss some of the shows that I watch and I was wondring how I was going to catch up. So thanks! I was just wondering if SCIFI's going to offer up Stargate SG-1 and its spin off Stargate Atlantis in the future? Any plans on talking with the BBC about some of its shows? Thanks for your time and you teams great work so far!
  38. Aaron Says:
I FRIGGIN LOVE THIS SITE! ITS BETTER THAN CABLE! I only want a better player that plays smoother, I dont know how to articulate that, but you guys know the stuff! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOMZ! Sincerely, Pizza P.S.- This site is the moons shoes!... P.S. P.S.- Thats a compliment.
  39. Bob Says:
First impression that jumps off the first page of the site is that this is run by a bunch of kids! Why?...there are two major grammatical errors in your copy. How you allowed this to be published on a debut of YOUR project is beyond me, but then it has been said kids today can't read, write, spell, or understand common English. Are you trying to reinforce that belief...it really is sad. Bob
  40. Bob Says:
To clarify my earlier post, these examples are from the first page I went to, the Content page. "Hulu provides a number of ways for you easily browse " "Myself and Irene, as well as hundred of clips ..."
  41. tv fan Says:
Congrats on going public. Love the new changes to the site. Hope you continue to add more older episodes of shows like Flash Gordon and Eureka from season 1. You've all done a great job.
  42. Missy Says:
Hey guys any ideas why the movies start in the middle? None of them start at the beginning yet all of the TV shows go from beginning to end. Just thought I'd mention it. I'm new to hulu today so it's possible that I'm just missing something.
  43. grace Says:
i think this is site is so amazing! perfect for a college student who doesn't want a tv in the room all the time! is it possible to get some cbs shows on here, especially How I Met Your Mother?
  44. MattSF Says:
yeah, j duke is right, streaming issues. the stuttering playback is a bit of a drag. and since you don't allow the client browser to buffer, the bandwidth will always be an issue for some users. Or is it overloaded media servers? Flash Media Server? if so, go CoolThreads, and dump the Linux. actually, you can run linux on CT boxes, so ... go! :-D oh and when the video is working well: it looks great. thanks!
  45. Leadbottom Says:
Great Site! I watched Firefly and Welcome Back Kotter last night and it was awesome. Both were high quality in full screen and the limited commercial interuptions are not bad at all. I can take 15 seconds here and there. I can see this model really cacthing on. The site is a breeze to navigate and has a decent selection of premium movies and tv shows that I can only see expanding. Thanks and Good luck Hulu!
  46. Amerigo Says:
Great job guys, great idea! Hope the best for hulu's future!
  47. 'ROESian Says:
Thanks for providing this site! It's cool to see all of the choices for new and old TV series (especially HEROES and Firefly)! Keep up the good work.
  48. 'ROESian Says:
Thanks for providing this site! It's cool to see all of the choices for new and old TV series (especially HEROES and Firefly)! Keep up the good work.
  49. Times Says:
Wow, now i can watch network tv shows on my computer! Gag....bye!
  50. texafornia Says:
This is AMAZING! Thank you for doing this. I have two simple wish list items. 1. Make the Pop Out window able to stay in front of other windows at all times. 2. When going full-screen and watching items in my queue , the full screen collapses back to the regular screen after each item. I have to keep getting back up and resizing the screen to full screen. Thanks again so much for all your hard work. I've been telling EVERYBODY about Hulu and I'm in love. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
  51. La Daniela Says:
Excellent site! I Love to see some American International films posted--the gold standard of B Movies.
  52. Legion Says:
Yes JDuke, that is certainly a possibility, or opening day high volume. I have a DELL as well so I'm wondering if we have the same pc now, lolz. Inspiron 6400 here. Anyways last night I actually experienced it at the start of a movie, 1 out of 78 attempts. Ironically it only did it during the preview they were showing me and not the actual movie. It has happened once before, but that was on a pc with slower specs. When it happened last night I had 7 browsers open in tabs, and 8 toolbar/programs open so I'm surprised it didn't happen more than just once. All I can say to the comment someone else made, is I'm just not experiencing it like others are, and I don't know why. I have DSL to, but I imagine most of you do also. There might need to be some improvements made on there system end, but like I said, I notice little to no problems here.
  53. ALICIA VOGEL Says:
STARTING WATCHING LIPSTICK JUNGLE . VERY DISAPPOINTED A LOT OF MISSING AND JUMPING AND THEN 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE END OF THE SHOW IT JUST STOPPED. THE IDEA IS WONDERFUL AND CONCEPT IS GREAT BUT THE WEB SITE NEEDS ALOT OF WORK
  54. MzMelanie Says:
    What about music videos?
  55. Rob Says:
I'm on a quest to get Internet video into my livingroom and on the HDTV. The PS3 with it's BlueRay disk seems like the most likely candidate. I'd like HULU to be PS3 compatible (or the PS3 to be HULU compatible:). Thanks for your great site. Rob:-]
  56. geraldz Says:
Thank God it's finally open to the public (and now indexed in www.RSSLiveTV.com )!
  57. Jeff Says:
I *especially* appreciate that this is flash-based and cross-platform, so I can watch TV on my Linux-based Eee PC. Thank you FOX and NBC and Hulu developers! for providing such smooth, easy, cross-platform solution for streaming video. If only CBS and ABC would pull themselves out of the Microsoft-dependent stone age too! (And, hey, what about PBS?)
  58. rob Says:
this is a good idea, but until there are GOOD movies in full-length and an absolute wealth of FULL-LENGTH tv episodes this is worthless. keep working on it.
  59. Scott Says:
site is great. player works fine (despite what the rest are saying). Just wish there was more simpsons and family guy episodes - im sure you have your reasons. Keep it up, hopefully we can get some media player support somehow.
  60. TOM GUN Says:
Great Job but must get it to work with PS3
  61. Desidirius Says:
Bring back the "Recently Added" listings, please.
  62. sapere_aude Says:
I love the new look, added video content, and most of the other changes you made when you went from beta to public. But why can't we leave feedback anymore? I've still got a few suggestions I'd love to make (as well as a few complaints about minor bugs); and I'm sure that other viewers do, too.
  63. Magister Says:
Good job. Long-time user and fan here, but I agree with Desidirius. For months now, if I wren't logging-in to watch something specific, I'd scroll back through the "Recently Added" to see what shows or episodes were new. A terrific example of the usefulness of this feature was after I had worked my way through all of the NewsRadios, then suddenly a week or two later, you filled-in one of the gaps. The current "Recently Added" could possibly serve one of my purposes, as long as you don't add more than five or six shows between my log-ins (couldn't you link a full list), but I'd also appreciate a reincarnation of the old format because then I could catch when you add to a show's existing lineup.
  64. drummerjoe Says:
You really should get an Opera/Flash 7 compatible version so people can view on the Wii. Or make a deal with Nintendo for a special channel.
  65. m-- Says:
the expanded list of shows and episodes is really great. but. i've been seeing all over that you have every episode ever aired of arrested development. where is season 3 episode 7- Prison Break-In???
  66. Kraigah Says:
Great site! Suddenly my Saturday afternoon has disapeared watching all these shows. Don't suppose "Greg the Bunny" would be showing up anytime soon? Can't find it on DVD would love to watch it here! Thanks!
  67. Janet T Says:
Adding my voice to the commenters who've already mentioned the lack of closed-captions and/or subtitles. If HULU is truly "all about an awesome viewer experience", the basic lack of readily available accessibility options is a glaring oversight. Please address this fundamental user issue *before* you worry about making HULU compatible with every flavor of portable media player out in the wild world of tech. I look forward to using and enjoying HULU...... eventually.
  68. Aussie Says:
I concur with the others (Matt) .... get HULU on the PS3 so we can really watch TV where it should be ...on the TV and not on a computer monitor. Do what ever you can to get Abode to release a fix.
  69. Major Says:
Love the new HULU site, wish it worked on my PS3 so that I could actually watch this content somewhere other than my laptop :-( Shame that YouTube is the only site that can send video to my PS3
  70. Kevin W-G Says:
All in all a fantastic site. I only have one complaint. Can you please adress the lack of diversity in your news and politics content? When I searched under genre, Bill O'reilly's talking points showed up twice. What about countdown with Keith Olbermann or _something_? MSNBC has a lot of content, but it's all chopped up into tiny clips that don't have any relationship with each other.
  71. Hadi Farah Says:
Please post more TV Episodes and Movies !
  72. Leeston Says:
Hey guys! I can't tell you how much I love HULU! I spent yesterday catching up on Lipstick Jungle! All 5 episodes I was behind! lol One suggestion I would like to make, and i'm sure it's probably already coming, looking at the genres section I didn't see Gay and Lesbian. Again i'm sure it's probably in the works sooner or later! Keep up the great work! ~Leeston
  73. stacey Says:
I really love your site.. You can't say anything wrong with it. Keep up the great job, and try to continue to make improvements. Just a suggestion, can you make it possible to have new release movies on Tuesday.. just like you see in the Stores and Video stores. That sure to bring in more viewers. It doesn't have to be new- it could be like you see in REDBOX.
  74. Philip Zondo Says:
    PS3
  75. Jesse Says:
Make this great site compatible with the WII therwise known as flash 7
  76. NGGurton Says:
After reading all the comments here, there isn't much I can add about the technical pluses and minuses, as they've already been covered. So I'll just say that for someone who loved watching a four similarly sexy and magnificent women on a cable channel, for the entirety of it's run, I'm finding myself becoming a fan of "Lipstick Jungle". I love strong women, and I'm currently married to an equally georgeous, fabulously strong woman. I loved the first six episodes posted and look forward to seeing the series grow, just like this site. Though I haven't the time in my daily life, yet, to watch the all other programs you have cataloged, I'm so addicted to this site now that I'm sure I'll get to them all some point. Thanks for making it possible to view the programs I've come to enjoy over the years, and for the ones I've come to look forward to with great anticipation. I look forward to seeing them in Hi-Def. Great work, thanks again.
  77. Howard Says:
Thanks Hula I love the service and I now can enjoyed streamed movies and shows. I think you guys need to add more movies, and that your model will be a sucess. I have know prlbems with commericals at all! Thank Again, but you really need more feture films!
  78. Mark Says:
Neat, but I want support for playing on PS3. It would be really could if we could play on PS3 and top of that we could do a remote play and watch your video’s via remote play on our PSP anywhere in the world. That would be cool.
  79. Miguel Says:
Hello. I just signed up a few minutes ago after examining the place a bit. I am really really appreciative of what you guys are doing, and it gives me comfort to know that this is a legitimate website. It's nice to be able to back and recommend something totally legal. I am more of a movie guy than a TV guy, but I'm considering Arrested Development, since everyone I've ever talked to about it loves it. And the movie selection is actually pretty good so far (Requiem for a Dream? The Big Lebowski? Awesome). I look forward to seeing it expand. I'm excited to have joined at the very beginning of what I expect to be a very popular and well-known site in years to come. It will be fun watching this competent but newly-created site growing up before my very eyes. Once more, thank you deeply for your incredible services and good luck in all that you do.
  80. Dennis Baker Says:
Really enjoy your site. Love the old tv shows like Time tunnel and Lost in space. made aware of you folk by a hockey blogger said you will be providing NHL clips. I do not like the NBA, really boring stuff. What can you do for me and millions of puck fans online thanks Denny
  81. Anthony Says:
Dear Hulu: I am a creative director who used to be a fan of your old design aesthetic. While your content offer is fantastic, your new design treatment are less than the "best practice" that I thought your flat scaled back design was. There used to be such a light treatment that the video's spoke for them selves. Now the UI is cluttered with design aesthetic void of affordance. Please revert :)

I think that we need to launch a class action lawsuit against HULU as it will contribute to the total decline of productivity as we know it... as if our economy wasn't in enough shape! Seriously Well Done! The single best site for professional-grade programing to date.... the old shows (I dare anyone to look at News Radio and not get hooked.... rest in peace Phil Hartman), the movies are all worth the brief commercial trade-off. Hulu could single handedly save the TV business model. ... Now just get it working on x-360, playstation etc, HP Tvs etc. so we can really enjoy it all the way it was supposed to be seen. Thank you HULU. It was worth the wait

CONGRATULATION!! What a great accomplishment and what a great job the Hulu team has done. Continued success and thank you for the wonderful service.
  86. Erik Says:
Great job! You are the first corporation to fulfill a big consumer need on the internet, instead of simply pulling all your content off of YouTube and then doing nothing about it. Your navigation and search is very user-friendly and easy to use. Can you get Comedy Central on board with this? Their website is ugly, slow loading, and it's impossible to find the episode you're looking for.
  87. Rick Says:
that is the deal with this crappy quality since release? lack of bandwidth on the server side? lots of "buffering".
  88. Peter Says:
This needs to work on the Wii. I would be using this site much more often. Youtube works on the Wii. Why can't this?
  89. Jimtompul Says:
This is a pretty interesting idea, I hope it works! Hey, is there a way to suggest a show to add? I would LOVE to see "Strange Luck" again. As I remember the first season was fantastic! J-
  90. Aaron Says:
First off let me say i love your site it is amazing! One thing PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Make it compatible for the Iphone! Do you have any idea how many people would access this site on there iphone?! Come on seriously you have to do this, we both know the SDK is coming out so please just think of the possibilities. Till then here is hoping. Peace
  91. Legion Says:
Yep, I agree with Rick, a ton of buffering is going on, probably server overload.
  92. Christine Says:
Great site, I'm really enjoying watching some shows I haven't seen in awhile :) Although I may be enjoying it a little too much. Any chance of Invisible Man season 2? Pretty please?
  93. akmeister Says:
I'm loving the site! Way too much time spent on the site. I need to get back to studying... I have a question on the length of episodes. Many are around 21mins long. Were these originally this short? Or are these cut down versions of the original episode? Keep up the good work team hulu!
  94. Charlie Says:
I want to add to the request for closed captioning.
  95. Stephen Celeste Says:
Gotta be honest, guys...stream quality has SERIOUZLY suffered since you went public. Let me know when you've added the infrastructure to actually support a public viewership, so I can return...til then, it's back to the networks! sMc
  96. allochthon Says:
Please (please please!) add Countdown w/Keith Olbermann to your lineup!
  97. snowcrocus Says:
    Yes. Closed captioning, please!!!
  98. Clarence White Says:
Terrific site with excellent content!!!! I would like to put in a request for a low bandwidth version of the site that would allow playback of content on lower bandwidth devices, like PDA's, Nokia Internet Tablets, Smartphones, etc. Thanks for your consideration.
  99. Jim W Says:
Love the site. Enjoying old favorites and new ones. Commercials are the bane of on air tv but yours are short to the point and, dare I say it, informative despite their brief display. Great job. I have GOT to get a bigger monitor!!!
  100. charlie marlow Says:
I hope you will add sub-titled foreign movies and tv shows...
  101. caryles413 Says:
Great site ..... that said, what about adding Closed Captioning so the many millions of deaf people can also enjoy hulu.com? All these programs are already CC'd on DVD so what would be involved to adding a button on the side to turn on the captioning? Thank you for your ocnsideration.
  102. AJ Says:
Well it looks like theres something here for everyone. I'm sure this site will just get bigger and bigger. I look forward to the adding of more cult favs in movies and TV. Please get LOST on here as soon as possible! I'm not sure if all would agree with me. But in my opinion one if not the greatest shows to hit the small screen. Character and Mythology galore...
  103. David L Says:
Overall love the site, the growing programming, the quality of the streams and the shortness of the commercial breaks - but I'm hoping you're planning on building in some frequency caps on the commercials. Seeing just one commercial 5 or six times per show seems to be a dis-service to both the advertisers and the viewers.
  104. Alexis Says:
I would love to see hard to get shows like "life goes on (warner Brothers show)" and "Street Hawk" I would use your service as my no 1 source for online tv. Also would love to see "magum P.I." Great stuff guys love this site!
  105. Walt Says:
Glad I found this site. I have been looking for the It Takes A Thief Series. One request....TV Series - T.H.E. Cat. Now that series is HARD to locate. I can't find the shows theme music! What's up with that? BTW...LOVE THIS SITE.
  106. Stephine Says:
I love this site. I was on the privet verison and I have to say you guys have done a awsome job! I love the shows you have on actually I was hoping to get season 2 of bones up soon and maybe season 3 of buffy! You guys truely have me hooked I'm a fan of Hulu and never plan to leave!
  107. Paul Says:
I've been using your website since you started and I gotta tell you, I absolutely love it! When there's nothing to see on regular TV, there's always something good to watch here. Keep up the good work!
  108. Ryan Says:
Love the site! Any chance of making a mobile version that would work on the iPhone and iPod touch? Even if it just worked over WiFi, that would still be really cool! Currently, it just tells me I need flash player 9. Here's hoping!!
  109. smiles Says:
i would really enjoy my favorite shows A LOT MORE IF IT DIDN'T SKIP!!!! this is so irritating i want to cancel it. how do i make it stop?? please help.
  110. Irene Grumman Says:
You're doing a great job! I've enjoyed my experiences watching movies and clips. Suggestion: Try to get Babylon Five, and China Beach.
  111. Derek Says:
Love the sight. I haven't watched video on my TV since the private beta started. You should look into improving the play list functionality so you can add shows you like and have it notify you when new episodes of those shows get uploaded. Also there used to be a "currently on air" symbol next to shows, it would be great if you could bring that back and add that as a search parameter when looking for recently added clips. So much video is being added on a daily basis now that its hard to search for specific new stuff.
  112. Ricardo Says:
Homicide: Life on the Streets (all seasons, plus the series ending movie which still isn't available on Netflix). For those who've never seen it, Homicide was the best drama series on TV. In my opinion, the characters of Tim Bayliss (Kyle Secor) and Frank Pembleton (Andre Braugher) are the most complex, well-written and well-acted that have ever been on a television series. While some seasons are better than others, and the show suffers after the departure of a key character, don't skip any episodes and follow the series all the way through - trust me, it's worth it. If they don't put it on Hulu, it's worth getting a subscription to Netflix just to rent this - they have the entire series except for a series-ending special "movie" NBC allowed them to film after the series was cancelled which wraps things up - in true Homicide fashion. Other than that - I can hardly wait until they load up everything in HD on Hulu. The trailers are awesome and I can definitely see myself getting totally hooked if we get all HD content. We have HD at home on a 46" screen, but we're at the mercy of the cable company in terms of which HD channels we get, and what shows are available on demand. With Hulu and all HD content (yes, that's right - ALL HD - we want the best!), I could easily forget about paying for all of those extra movie channels and convert to Hulu.
  113. CJ Says:
Why don't you have Underfunded up on Hulu????????????????????????????
  114. Rille Says:
This was awesome, but I don't like the street magnum.
  115. zhito Says:
    Congratulations and thank you!
  116. Chewyate2 Says:
Whoa! Didn't know this could be so addicting. I've been sitting here for 3 1/2 hours! Thanks for my pancake butt. Hey ... If I could do anything to get the word around, let me know. Pancake Butts Unite!
  117. Justin Says:
Guys, great site & excellent selection (you're leaving the VOD selection of my local cable provider in the dust already ;-). Hope this business model takes off. One question: are you planning to offer any foreign TV titles? Top of my wish list would be the UK show "Top Gear" Thanks!
  118. Jt Says:
I'd like to add my congrads too. I always believed that healthy competition raises quality, and from what I've seen and read so far, it looks like I'll connected here alot more often. Thanks for introducing "Juno" to me....I had not the slightest clue it even existed until I watch that clip a few minutes ago, here on Hulu!.....U Rock!
  119. corban baxter Says:
You guys seriously need to make this an AIR app this ROCKS!
  120. batmite Says:
One more wish-for, now that beta is over: If possible, the old Chris Elliott Fox series Get A Life. Enjoying hulu!
  121. Steven Says:
Please add closed caption or subtitle. It is already included on almost all DVDs. What is the problem not to put it on website? Thank you.
  122. Kristen Says:
As a high school teacher, I see great potential in this site. It would be great if you could get more clips that could be used in the classroom, like The Simpsons' versions of Poe's The Raven or Shakespeare's Hamlet. For me, it would be easy access and implementation of educational media; for the students, it would mean more clips shown in class; for you, mass publicity.
  123. Phil Welch Says:
You know, a lot of videos on this site completely hang for awhile and refuse to play correctly, and it really annoys me. And no, I know it's hulu's problem. How can I tell? Easy: the ads ALWAYS load quickly.
  124. Dirty Pete Says:
I like it a lot, but you need to put every episode of every show online all the time. On-demand impulsiveness is what drives pirating, you can't run this like a TV station and limit content. Great site, glad to see this stuff streaming legally.
  125. Melanie Says:
For the most part this site is great with a few minor problems. For some shows, not all episodes are available. When trying to watch something I've never seen before this is a problem. Yesterday Seasons 2 and 3 of Bones were available, today all of a sudden they are gone. What happened?? Why were the episodes taken away?
  126. EC Says:
Love the site. You guys NEED to add the movie Idiocracy, or at least some clips. Everybody at our office loves that movie.
  127. Robert Says:
I was in on the Beta and was happy for months. Now that your open I get massive buffering issues, your video for the ads are fine (guessing those are served up by and ad service) but the video you have just stutters like no tomorrow. I suggest that you get a caching service like akimai or limelight. Its cheaper than having your own server and perfect for a site like yours.
  128. Ole Says:
Well, guys just want to say if "you" or the Network really plan to keep this going, the whole hulu.com thing. You sould seriosly consider to put more current stuff online. I mean some Shows dont even have any kind of episodes like "Futurama", and other shows are just 2months old. It is still running on tv like Bionic Woman or Terminator but our last video is moths ago. Also movies at not that much on this page. There are acutally a lot "illegal" sites online with a lot more stuff. Really hope you going to do something about the "emtieness" of hulu. best Ole
  129. Dennis Says:
How often do the selections of movies and shows get changed? If this is all there is to this website what you have posted here to watch it's unlikely i keep interest in coming here
  130. Justin Says:
Thank you for Hulu...it is exactly the type of website that I imagine will stomp out network TV (which is bad anyways)...however I must submit feedback about the way the "commercials" play during movies...it kind turned me off. Like, one at the start and one at the end great, perhaps an animated watermark in the lower corner? Fine. But stopping during scenes...baaaad. And can we synch up the air dates? I mean, I know the networks don't want to loose the edge, but can the lag time get lower? Oh, and is there any way to expand the collections? Like the entire Simpsons series? Oh, and Futurama? Please? I would pay for a premium membership to stuff like, that...if $$$ for royalties is the issue.
  131. Tyler Says:
i would just like to say that i like what you have done and you had a great idea for setting up the site. If possible see if you can get some anime such as Naruto on here it would appeal to teens and would help the growth of your site.
  132. Bill Says:
This is 1 awsome site thanks for having it as im at this time have no tv. One show i dont and would love is the origanol Knight Rider. please see if you can get it. thanks again for a great site
  133. jon Says:
Why must there be movie clips of movies not available? I never watch them and they dont get me to purchase any product. And by the way I use you because your service is free. Remember that you make your money on advertising. Please provide as much content as possible, That will make the site better, nothing else, please don't assume anything else. I have used google since it's beginning because they provided a great product then and they have continued to improve their services for their customers. Try to do the same.
