New in TV: Season 3 of ReGenesis; Financial Programming from CNBC

December 1st, 2008 by Rebecca Harper Editor

Here at Hulu, we’re always working to bring more seasons of vintage TV to the site. In recent weeks, we’ve added more A-Team, Simon & Simon, Airwolf, The Pretender, The Practice, Reba, and even Weird Science — the TV series, that is — and we’re still busy securing the rights to more of yesterday’s hits.

Today’s Hulu for the Holidays reveal is, you guessed it, another season of a show that’s acquired a cult following on Hulu. We’re proud to be the exclusive U.S. provider of Season 3 of ReGenesis, a Canadian drama that’s a little bit House, a little bit CSI, but with a focus on science. It all centers on the North American Biotechnology Advisory Commission (NorBAC), a Toronto-based lab that investigates everything from bio-terrorism to mysterious diseases. In Seasons 1 and 2, the NorBAC team dealt with stem cell research, mad cow disease, a new strain of HIV, and genetic mutation, and Season 3 of ReGenesis promises to deliver more science-driven storylines. There’s a fourth and final season remaining, and our content team is working closely with our partners to secure streaming rights to those episodes.

And in these difficult financial times, you can never be too careful with your money. Today we’re also launching programming from CNBC, the cable financial news network. Under the CNBC umbrella, you’ll find CNBC Originals, a series of prime-time specials and documentaries devoted to business and finance. There are also episodes of American Greed, The Millionaire Inside and Donnie Deutsch’s The Big Idea. I’m most interested in watching the CNBC Originals profile of former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, but there are also episodes devoted to American Airlines, Wal-Mart, Donald Trump, Budweiser and more.

Hulu for the Holidays continues through December 26, and we have more hit movies, TV and site features in store. Check back again tomorrow to learn more about the new site features we’ve launched.

Thank you SO MUCH for Season 3 of ReGenesis. I’m way in my 50s and this is the best show I have ever seen on TV. Or, not on TV as the case may be. Anyway, thank you!!!

Now: You want to know another one it would be great to get? VR-5. I’d love to see that again.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. The cliffhanger on season 2 made the wait unbearable. But I had faith Hulu would come through with season 3. What a pleasant surprise in my Queue.
