Too Good for TV

June 13th, 2008 by Alex Kruglov Content Acquisition

Hulu is committed to bringing you the finest produced content on the web, no matter where it comes from — and some of the best videos on our site may have never made it onto your TV screen. Since launch, you’ve probably noticed the hilarious news updates from Onion News Network, hopped on a tour van with The All-For-Nots, goofed off with The Squeegees, or got caught up with the thrills of Satacracy 88 and Prom Queen.

Even as Hulu continues to expand its library of TV shows, we’ll continue to add new shows from the best digital producers. Some highlights include the self-indulgent twentysomethings on 2/8 Life, a Winnebago road trip with Roadents, a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the insanity of Hollywood in The Writer’s Room, and a flashback to freshman year with Dorm Life.

Meanwhile, international best-selling author Robin Cook has teamed up with Michael Eisner to bring his new thriller, Foreign Body, to the Web:

Months ago, when I first discovered your great site I wrote you and asked a very important question.
    Well it got ignored.
    So I’ll ask it here.
Maybe other viewers will help get this message out. You and many other sites that offer streaming video and movies on line are discriminating against the handicapped.. WHERE is the Closed Caption for the many many thousands of Hard of Hearing
Customers out here. You can have the world’s best site but if everything you offer is muffled to us, what good is it. I know you have the technology to embed this into your programing because I watched a program on your site that had it. Then the next time I went there it was taken off. So what’s with that. If you ever deceided to take us into consideration, could you also give us a catagory with a header for closed caption programing so we don’t spend so much time loading programs just to find out we can’t hear them?
    Hello are you there?
    I can’t hear you.

I don’t know how hard it is to get your hands on Showtime, Cinemax and HBO stuff, but I think it would be GREAT if you could start offering Weeds on the site.

    Just a thought,
